Blackbutt is the ideal timber for a wide variety of cladding, flooring and decking applications.
BLACKBUTT
A popular choice for architects, builders and designers, it is admired for its incredible durability and fire-resistant properties.
Perfect for large fit-outs like shopping centres and high-rise buildings, blackbutt is a readily available and versatile timber. A beautiful hardwood, it presents a relatively straight and uniform grain with an appealing colour palette, ranging from cream to pale brown with a hint of pink.
Contemporary by nature, when freshly cut, the true wood is pale brown with a hint of pink, while the sapwood (although sometimes indistinguishable from the true wood) is usually slightly paler in colour.
With a reputation for excellence, Kennedy’s class one durability blackbutt is in high demand within the commercial building industry. Our recycled blackbutt is graded according to interim industry standards, while our new certified blackbutt is Australian Forestry Standard approved.
